INTRODUCTION
The most important reunion of cigar lovers in the World in one of the most interesting colonial cities in the New World – Havana, Cuba. A week long orgy of the senses (well, taste anyway) with cigar experts.
TOUR ITINERARY
DAY 1. ‘LA BIENVENIDA’ ~ THE WELCOME
For passengers flying with Virgin airlines from Gatwick, UK, meet at Havana airport and private transfer to the classic Hotel Nacional or fabulous new 5 star Saratoga where you will spend 7 nights B&B.
DAY 2. ‘LA FABRICA’ ~ CIGAR FACTORY
Registration at the convention centre for conferences between 10.00 am and 16.00 pm for those wishing to attend (not included).
After
a leisurely breakfast, we proceed in 1950’s American classic
cars to visit the famous Partagas factory for a
tour of all the cigar making processes, followed by a cigar & cocktail
in the VIP room. There will be ample opportunity and seasoned (well-aged)
advice on purchasing cigars in the factory shops.
Lunch at the lovely courtyard restaurant of La Mina in the historic part of the old city with live Cuban country music.
Free afternoon at leisure.
Welcome night to inaugurate the festival with cigars, cocktails, canapes and entertainment.
DAY 3. ‘LA TIERRA’ ~ THE LAND
Breakfast followed by day trip to the Tobacco Plantations of Vuelta Abajo and visit the Vinales Valley. Lunch included.
DAY 4. ‘EL COMERCIO’ ~ THE BUSINESS
Trade fair opens. Transport to visit the trade fair and see the exhibition (entrance payable locally). Evening dinner at the famous Cuban restaurant, El Ajibe.
DAY 5. ‘INSTITUTO DE TOBACO’
Optional visit to the Tobacco Institute south of Havana where you can learn all about tobacco cultivation including lunch.
DAY 6. ‘LA CENA DE DEGUSTACION ~ GALA DINNER
Breakfast followed by visit to Hemingway's farmhouse, La Finca Vigia, outside of Havana with an excursion to Cojimar fishing village and lunch at the famous Las Terrazas restaurant overlooking the estuary.
Evening special Gala dinner (not included).
DAY 7. ‘DIA DE PLACER’ ~ DAY OF PLEASURE
Free day at leisure. Optional visit to the Playas del Este beaches.
Evening
meal at the renowned paladar private restaurant, La Guarida
DAY 8. ‘ADIOS’ ~ FAREWELL
Transfer to the airport for departure home or extension of holiday.
